Today is the 70th Anniversary of the End of the Pacific War.

World War II officially came to an end on September 2, 1945 (70 years ago today) when Japanese Foreign Minister Mamoru Shigemitsu signed the Instrument of Surrender on behalf of the Japanese Government.
