About the DPV:

The DPV (Desert Patrol Vehicle) previously known as the FAV (Fast Attack Vehicle), is a lightly armored high-speed sand rail-type vehicle. Due to excellent acceleration and off-road mobility, the DPVs were extensively used in Operation Desert Storm, first seeing action in 1991. When Navy SEALs liberated Kuwait City, they drove in on DPVs. The DPV’s rear-mounted air-cooled 200 hp engine enables it to accelerate from 0 to 30 mph in only four seconds and is able to travel at speeds of up to 80 mph. With a 21 gallon fuel tank, the DPV has a range of about 210 miles, which can be extended to over 1,000 miles with the addition of an optional fuel bladder.  It can carry a payload of 1500 lbs. The DPV armament includes 1 .50 cal M2 Browning, 2 M60s, and 2 M136 AT4 anti-armor weapons.  The M60s may be replaced with a MK19 grenade launcher. M240s or M249 SAWs are also frequently used.
