Art-A-Whirl Activities at Brickmania Toyworks

Brickmania Toyworks will be open for our sixth consecutive year during the Art-A-Whirl weekend. This is part of the neighborhood-wide  NE Minneapolis Art-A-Whirl, an event made possible by more than 700 participating artists and small businesses, and is one of the largest art crawls in the world.

Brickmania will have gallery space open to the public, featuring the works several local artists and artisans, pizza by the slice from Pizza Lucé and more.

This year, we are asking for $5 for entrance into our exhibit space. We will be exhibiting two record breaking displays.  One is a Guinness World Record holding Kinetic K’nex Sculpture by local artist Austin Granger.  The second is a re-creation of the D-Day +1 Landing at Omaha Beach spanning over 25′ long modeled from LEGO bricks by local LEGO artists Daniel, Yitzy and Cody.

We are located in the historic Thorp Building and CBC, a 200,000 square foot former armaments factory located in the heart of the NE Minneapolis arts district.  Brickmania is located on the north side of the building and we  have our own street entrance located on 18th Ave NE (Google Maps: 909 18th ave ne, minneapolis, mn 55418).  Enter on Central and wind your way through the amazing businesses in the Thorp Building or start at our entrance on 18th Avenue NE and then enjoy the rest of the Thorp Building.
