About the Field Bastions:
The Field Bastion is a modern gabion, with the primary use being for flood control and military fortifications. They are made up of a collapsible wire mesh container and a heavy-duty fabric liner. Basic assembly requires unfolding and filling them with sand, soil, or gravel using a front-end loader. Much like a sandbag barrier, the placement is simple. One of the advantages of a Field Bastion barrier is the quick and easy setup. They are often used as a semi-permanent levee or blast wall against explosions or small arms. Recent uses of Field Bastions include areas of heavy conflict like Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as civilian use in flood control during Hurricane Katrina. Secure your minifigure base today with Brickmania Field Bastions.
Each pre-built Field Bastion includes unique printing on all four sides, including one with battle damage. Combine multiple Field Bastions to create detailed base fortifications and defensive walls. Printed artwork is based on the HESCO® Bastion.

About the Messerschmitt Me-262 Swallow:
The Messerschmitt Me 262 was the world’s first operational jet-powered fighter aircraft. The Me 262 was faster and more heavily armed than the Allied fighter, including the British jet-powered Gloster Meteor. The Me 262’s roles included light bomber, reconnaissance and experimental night fighter versions. Me 262 pilots claimed a total of 542 Allied kills, although higher claims are sometimes made.
The Allies countered its potential effectiveness in the air by attacking the aircraft on the ground and during takeoff and landing. While German use of the aircraft ended with their surrender in May 1945, a small number were operated by the Czechoslovak Air Force until 1951. Captured Me 262s were studied and flight tested by the major powers, ultimately influencing the designs of several post-war aircraft such as the North American F-86 Sabre and Boeing B-47 Stratojet. A number of aircraft have survived on display in museums and enthusiasts maintain privately-built flying reproductions that use the modern J-85 jet engine.

The A27M “Cromwell” Cruiser Tank, named for English Civil War leader Oliver Cromwell, was the first tank put into service by the British to combining a dual-purpose gun, reliable Meteor engine, and reasonable armor in a balanced package. The Cromwell first saw action in the Battle of Normandy in June 1944. The tank equipped the armored reconnaissance regiments of the Royal Armored Corps (part of the Royal Tank Regiment), within the 7th, 11th and Guards Armored Divisions. The Cromwell IV was the most numerous variant with over 1,935 units produced. It was not uncommon for this variant to be modified into an observation post, fitting the tank with two No. 19 and two No. 38 portable radios. There are currently at least twenty-five Cromwell IV’s that survive in running condition.

Translating to “marksman” or “sharpshooter”, the Italian Bersaglieri were some of Italy’s finest troops. Deployed in Greece, North Africa, and the Soviet Union, the Bersaglieri were known for the distinctive black plumage on their helmets. About Carro Armato M13/40:
The Carro Armato M13/40 was developed early in the war, improving on previous Italian models. These tanks had some success against many of the first Allied tanks to appear in North Africa. Although effective at the beginning of the war, the Italian medium tanks proved to be ineffective against the later Allied models and heavier guns. The tank also had poor top speed and range for its size.
Despite its shortcomings, the Allies deployed captured M13/40’s in North Africa. These captured tanks served as a short-term solution for the extreme lack of available Allied armor in several key battles, including El Alamein.

About Cannone Da 75/32 – Modello 37:
The Cannone da 75/32 was a towed artillery piece developed by Italy shortly before hostilities broke out in World War II. During the 1930’s, Italy recognized the need to upgrade its military hardware. As a result, they were able to replace their dated World War I hardware with new, better-suited weapons. Although effective and well-constructed, this gun could never be produced in enough numbers to sway the tide of battle against the Allies. After Italy’s surrender in 1943, Germany took ownership of these guns to continue the fight on the Italian front.

Developed by Italy, the SPA TL.37 Light Artillery Tractor was among several variants of trucks produced before and during the Second World War.
