About the MiG-3 – WWII Russian Fighter Interceptor:
It is difficult to imagine that the ubiquitous Soviet MiG started as an underperforming aircraft. The MiG-3 was an upgrade from the MiG-1, but the improvements were barely noticeable. Although its top speed was impressive for the time, it was difficult to control at lower altitudes and often performed poorly against German aircraft such as the Messerschmitt and Focke-Wulf. The first MiG-3’s were also poorly equipped with only three machine guns. Later models featured an additional machine gun and various ordnance.

About the Sdkfz 222 – German Light Armored Car:
The mechanization of war in the early twentieth century resulted in sweeping changes. The advent of the machine gun rendered the cavalry charge ineffective. Replacing this old tactic was the invention of armored cars and tanks. These new “cavalry” units were organized into mechanized and armored divisions, often performing the same role that soldiers on horseback were once tasked with in combat: penetrating enemy lines and providing reconnaissance. The Sdkfz 222 Light Armored Car was primarily deployed for the latter purpose of providing recon for commanders and spotting enemy troops and fortified positions. It could also engage enemy troops in skirmishes, providing support to friendly infantry with its 2cm main cannon and machine gun.

About the Panzer III
Designed to be Germany’s tank for engaging enemy armor, the Panzer III saw it’s successful battlefield debut during the invasion of Poland. It proved to be a reliable and winning design and was continually upgraded and refined throughout the war. The Panzer III’s hull and chassis was also used to create the highly successful series of low-profile StuG III assault guns and tank destroyers.
The Panzer III is one of Brickmania’s most popular kits and we are constantly making upgrades and improvements. This edition incorporates a lot of upgrades over the previously more austere version. There are “extra” features such the new 1.5 wide Brickmania Track Links, a BrickArms MG-34 on the anti-aircraft mount (in addition to the one in the hull), accessible interior spaces (upper and lower hull sections separate to reveal the interior), and more.

Although defeated in their homeland by Germany, the WWII French Soldier would continue to fight Axis forces across the world. Many would join the Free French Resistance and continue to take the fight to the Nazi invaders for the remainder of the war. This resistance would prove to be an invaluable resource to Allied forces when they liberated France in 1944.

About the M1917 Model T Ambulance:
Considered to be the first standardized ambulance to be used by American forces during the first World War, the Model T provided an effective way to transport casualties from the front. Transported by hand or horse carriage, soldiers would die before they could be seen by a field hospital. The Model T shortened the time it took to transport the wounded from the front, drastically increasing survival rates among soldiers.
