About the M3 Lee – WWII Allied Medium Tank:
Named after the well-known Civil War General Robert E. Lee. The M3 “Lee” and its variants were some of the first American tanks to enter World War II. Equipped with a reliable 340 horsepower Continental engine, the Lee was first deployed to England and the Soviet Union under the Lend-Lease program. When the Lee performed poorly against the Panzer III and IV tanks in North Africa, they were either repurposed as armored recovery vehicles or sent to less-active fronts. Many would be sent to the Pacific Theater as the Japanese did not have the same heavy armor deployed by the Germans.
Deployed to North Africa, its Continental engine performed well under the harsh desert climate. However, the inexperience of American troops against the forces of Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, and the complex operation of the Lee, resulted in heavy losses. The M3 Lee would eventually be replaced by the M4 Sherman in the European Theater.

About the 3.7cm Flak 37:
The 3.7cm Flak was a series of anti-aircraft cannons produced by Germany that saw extensive use during World War II. The cannon was fully automatic, firing around 150 rounds per minute, making it effective against aircraft up to 4,200 m. It was produced in both towed and self-propelled versions. The Germans also used their anti-aircraft guns as ground support. Germany’s defeat would end production and the Flak 37 was replaced by the Bofors 40mm gun, later by the 35mm anti-aircraft pieces produced in Switzerland.
The original 37 mm gun was developed by Rheinmetall in 1935 as the 3.7cm Flak 18.

The LeFH 18 was the standard divisional field howitzer used by the Wehrmacht in WWII. In 1941 the original design was fitted with a muzzle break allowing for greater range, this model was known as the leFH 18M. In March 1942 a requirement was issued for a lighter howitzer. This led to a second modification, known as the leFH 18/40. This modification consisted of mounting the barrel of an leFH 18M on the carriage for a 7.5 cm PaK 40 antitank gun. The new carriage increased the rate of fire as well as making the howitzer lighter. Additionally, a more efficient muzzle brake was added, decreasing the recoil. With a 105mm (4.13 in) shell and a range of 10,675 m (11, 675 yards – over 6 miles) it was a powerful and versatile piece of artillery.
