The Flak 36 8.8cm Anti-Aircraft Cannon, popularly known as the “88,” was one of Germany’s most lethal weapons of World War II. Originally designed for high-altitude anti-aircraft fire, the deadly effects of the gun’s high velocity shells versus ground targets, armored vehicles in particular, became a thing of legend. The “88” was typically set up on a cruciform mount for anti-aircraft defense, but the same gun/mount combination was often dug in to deep pits for anti-tank/anti-personnel roles.

An alien solider – not as strong nor as scary as the alien queen, but frightening nonetheless. Hailing from Planet Xerxes, you wouldn’t want to fight one of these soldiers one on one. If you aren’t packing some serious heat, you may want to stay inside your ship for protection. These creatures are fast, cunning, and incredibly strong.
If you are planning to take on an alien soldier, we suggest using anything with fire as your weapon of choice.

About the X-1 Rocket Plane:
Known to many as “Glamorous Glennis”, the X-1 Rocket Plane is well-known in aviation history. Shaped like a .50 caliber bullet, the X-1 was modified several times to increase the likelihood of a successful mission to “break” the sound barrier.
On October 14, 1947, the X-1 achieved that mission. Flown by World War II combat pilot Captain Chuck Yeager, the X-1 achieved Mach 1.06 (700 mph) and safely returned to Earth. Before breaking the sound barrier, Captain Yeager flew over sixty missions for the U.S. Army Air Corps (now known as the U.S. Air Force) in Europe. After being shot down over France, Yeager narrowly escaped German patrols and returned after the war to become a test pilot for the U.S. Air Force.
It is important to note that no one knew what would happen when the X-1 approached Mach 1 (the speed of sound). Although the X-1 had been designed to withstand extreme gravitational pressure, nothing was known about the effect of reaching this speed on the human body. Launching from the bomb bay of a B-29 bomber, the X-1 and Captain Yeager would prove that it was possible to travel faster than the speed of sound. This event would fuel the production of supersonic aircraft, forever changing the nature of warfare. The X-1 now resides in the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.

The M3 Howitzer was developed in World War II by the US Army to fulfill the need for fire support for its airborne infantry unit. The M3 used a shortened version of the standard M2 105mm howitzer fitted to a light-weight, split tail carriage developed for the small 75mm Pack Howitzer. The M3 saw extensive service with US Army during the campaign in Europe, with M3s landing with glider-borne infantry battalions on D-Day and steadily reinforced throughout the European campaigns. The M3 was typically towed behind a 1/4 ton 4×4 (Jeep) utility vehicle.
