About the Char B1 Bis:

The Char B1 was a French heavy tank manufactured before WWII. It was a specialized heavy break-through vehicle, originally conceived as a self-propelled gun with a 75 mm howitzer in the hull. Later, a 47 mm gun in a turret was added to allow it to function also as a “battle tank”, fighting enemy armor and equipping the armored divisions of the Infantry Arm. Starting in the early twenties, its development and production were repeatedly delayed, resulting in a vehicle that was both technologically complex and expensive. It was already obsolete when real mass-production of a derived version started in the late thirties.

Among the most powerful armed and armored tanks of its day, it was very effective in direct confrontations with German armor in 1940 during the Battle of France. However, slow speed and high fuel consumption made it ill-adapted to the war of movement then being fought. After the defeat of France, captured Char B1 tanks would be used by Germany with some rebuilt as flamethrowers or mechanized artillery.

May 2017 Hashtag Giveaway

5_2017 - SoMe Posts

Brickmania has decided to run another hashtag social media giveaway event for the entire month! We often receive questions about how it works, and have decided to make a FAQ to answer general questions.

How do I enter the giveaway?

  • On Facebook, share one of our posts to your timeline and insert the hashtag #

#battleoffrancebricks into the post. Alternatively, make a post on your timeline/wall with the hashtag#battleoffrancebricks. Note: Unless your Facebook account is set to public, we cannot see a private post on your wall. Additionally, using the hashtag as a comment in one of our posts, does not count. Continued spamming of the hashtag in the same post can disqualify you.

  • On Twitter, tweet using the hashtag #battleoffrancebricks. Alternatively, retweet one of our posts and use the hashtag #battleoffrancebricks in your share.
  • On Instagram, make a new image or take a picture and use the hashtag #battleoffrancebricks. Note, unless your profile/image is public, the post cannot be seen by anyone but you. Keep in mind that spamming/using the hashtag as a comment on one of our images not only does not qualify for an entry, but repeated use can result in disqualification.

Can I enter more than once?

  • Yes, you can enter as many times as you like! It can raise the chance of becoming that week’s winner significantly.

Why does commenting on posts not count?

  • Something that we have learned from past events is that people often comment on our own posts through Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag. This does not count, and repeated use can result in complete disqualification.
  • The purpose of running a hashtag giveaway is to share our content to new people; commenting on Brickmania posts does not share our brand, products, name, etc

What do I get if I win? How will I know if I won?

  • Each week, Brickmania staff will compile a list of everyone who has entered to that point in the month (it is retroactive, so if you entered on January 3rd, later in the month, it will still count)
  • A winner will be selected for each week randomly from one of the three social media networks we are doing the giveaway on. The winner will be contacted through that platform’s Direct Messaging system (it is important that if you want to enter, make sure you have a way to directly communicate with us)
  • When the winner is selected, they will receive a kit (new or restock), which will be sent through the mail straight to their address!
  • Upon selecting a winner, Brickmania staff will produce one post per social media platform announcing the winner to the world!

*These rules can be changed at any time, and Brickmania reserves the right to change and tweak things if needed

About the Ju 87 B-2 Stuka:

The Junkers 87, or Stuka, was a German dive bomber and ground-attack aircraft designed by Hermann Pholmann in 1935. It made its first combat debut in 1937 with the Luftwaffe’s Condor Legion during the Spanish Civil War, and served the Axis forces in WWII. The aircraft was easily recognizable by its inverted gull wings and fixed spatted undercarriage. One of the Stuka’s innovative features included, automatic pull-up dive brakes under both wings, which ensured that the aircraft would recover from its attack dive, even if the pilot blacked out from the high g-forces.

The Ju 87 operated with considerable success in the close air support and anti-shipping at the outbreak of WWII. It spearheaded the air assaults in the Invasion of Poland in September 1939 and the Norwegian Campaign in the following year. The Stuka operated with further success after the Battle of Britain. Its potency as a precision ground-attack aircraft became valuable to German forces in the Balkans Campaign and early stages of the Eastern Front. Once the Luftwaffe lost air superiority on all fronts, the Ju 87 again became an easy target for enemy fighter aircraft. Despite these developments, and because there was no better replacement, it continued to be produced until 1944.

Specifications:

New Release: Panzer I

2148-Action-Webcard-710

About the Panzer I:

The Panzer I was a light tank produced in Germany in the 1930s. Design started in 1932 and mass production began in 1934. Intended only as a training tank to introduce the concept of armored warfare to the German Army, the Panzer I saw combat in Spain during the Spanish Civil War; in Poland, France, and the Soviet Union and North Africa during WWII; and in China during the Second Sino-Japanese War. By 1942, the Panzer I chassis design was used as the basis of tank destroyers and assault guns.

The Panzer I’s performance in combat was limited by its thin armor and light armament of two machine guns. As a design intended for training, the Panzer I was not as capable as other light tanks of the era, such as the Soviet T-23. Between 1934 and the mid-1940s, several variants of the Panzer I were designed, especially during the later years of its combat history. Since they were obsolete from their introduction, the Panzer I chassis was increasingly adapted as tank destroyers and other variants.

Specifications:

  • Weight: 5.4 tons
  • Crew: 2 (commander and driver)
  • Armor: 7-13 mm
  • Main armament: 2 x 7.92 mm MG13 machine guns
  • Engine: Krupp M 305 four-cylinder air-cooled gasoline engine
  • Operational range: 120 mi on road; 109 mi off road
  • Speed: 31 mph on road; 23 mph off road

Additional information about this Brickmania custom building kit:

The Panzer I comes with the following features:

  • Knob to control turret rotation from the rear of the tank
  • Custom-printed Balkenkreuz tiles included
  • Opening commanders hatch
  • Custom-printed Panzer Commander minifigure
  • Commander fits into opening hatch
  • Designed by Yitzy Kasowitz
  • 1/35 scale to match other Brickmania models.
  • Includes 376 genuine new-condition LEGO® bricks and BrickArms® elements
  • Intermediate Skill Level (4-6 years experience with LEGO is recommended)

All Brickmania model kits are made of new-condition LEGO bricks. This model comes disassembled and includes complete printed building instructions and comes packaged in a sealed box. This is a limited edition kit and production may be discontinued at any time.
