About the CMP FAT + 25 Pounder:
The CMP FAT, or Field Artillery Tractor, was an artillery tractor of the British and Commonwealth forces during WWII. CMP stood for Canadian Military Pattern, and was applied to a number of trucks and utility vehicles built in Canada that combined British design requirements with North American automotive engineering. As with other FATs, the CMP was usually used to tow either the 25-pounder howitzer or the 17-pounder anti-tank gun. A power winch was located above the rear axle for maneuvering the gun or unbogging the vehicle.
The first models were produced in 1940 and the body went through a number of design changes throughout the war. Post-war examples were supplied to Denmark who provided their own bodywork.

A scroll saw is a small electric or pedal-operated saw used to cut intricate curves in wood, metal, or other materials. The fineness of its blade allows it to cut more delicately than a power jigsaw, and more easily than a hand coping saw. Like those tools, it is capable of creating curves with edges, by pivoting its table. Scroll sawing is a popular hobby for many woodworkers. The tool allows a substantial amount of creativity and requires comparatively little space.
While somewhat similar to a band saw, a scroll saw uses a reciprocating blade rather than a continuous loop. The scroll saw’s blade can be removed and placed through a pre-drilled starting hole, allowing interior cutouts to be made without an entry slot. The majority of scroll saws offer a small light on a flexible arm that illuminates the work area and a dust blower nozzle to keep the work space clear while working. Variable-speed support allows even finer control over cuts when working with delicate materials or when making intricate cuts.

About the SPAD S.XIII
The SPAD S.XIII was a French biplane fighter aircraft of WWI, developed by Société Pour L’Aviation et ses Dérivés (SPAD) from the earlier highly successful SPAD S.VII. It was one of the most capable fighters of the war, and one of the most produced, with 8,472 built and orders for around 10,000 cancelled at the armistice.
The SPAD S.XIII first flew on April 4, 1917 with deliveries to the French Air Service starting in the next month. The new fighter played an important part in the French plans for its fighter force, being expected to replace the SPAD S.VII, as well as the few remaining Nieuport fighters in front line service. The S.XIII eventually equipped virtually every French fighter squadron. The S.XIII was of similar layout to the S.VII, and came with a single engine and was mainly of wooden construction with fabric covering. Armament was two Vickers machine guns with 400 rounds per gun, replacing the single gun of the earlier aircraft. It was faster than its main contemporaries – the British Sopwith Camel and the German Fokker D.VII. Its relatively higher power-to-weight ratio gave it a good rate of climb.

The Flak 36 8.8cm Anti-Aircraft Cannon, popularly known as the “88,” was one of Germany’s most lethal weapons of World War II. Originally designed for high-altitude anti-aircraft fire, the deadly effects of the gun’s high velocity shells versus ground targets, armored vehicles in particular, became a thing of legend. The “88” was typically set up on a cruciform mount for anti-aircraft defense, but the same gun/mount combination was often dug in to deep pits for anti-tank/anti-personnel roles.

The M4 Sherman was the workhorse medium tank of US and western Allied forces during World War II. Armed with a multi-purpose 75mm gun that could fire both high-explosive and anti-tank rounds, it ruled the battlefield when first introduced. Even though the Sherman would later prove inferior in firepower and armor to heavier German Panther and Tiger Tanks, it’s superior mobility, reliability and ease of manufacture proved to be a wartime winner.

About the Spitfire Mk Vb:
The Spitfire MK Vb was a British plane used during WWII, and served as the only Allied fighter aircraft to fight in front line service from beginning to end. Post-war, the Spitfire’s service career continued into the 1950s. Its basic airframe proved to be incredibly versatile and adaptable. This included the capability of having far more powerful engines and far greater loads than its original role as a short-range interceptor had called for. These changes were made to combat the ever-improving enemy aircraft.
The VB became the main production version of the Mark Vs. Along with the new Merlin 34 series, the B wing was fitted as standard. Starting in early 1941, the round section exhaust stacks were fitted with six shorter exhaust stacks per side, similar to those of Spitfire IXs and Seafire IIIs. A constant flow of modifications were made as production progressed. A “blown” cockpit hood was introduced in an effort to further increase the pilot’s head-room and increase visibility. Different propeller types were fitted and an improved windscreen assembly was implemented to increase bullet resistance. The VB series were the first Spitfires able to carry a range of specially designed “slipper” drop tanks, which were fitted underneath the wing center-section. The VB could be identified by the large Vokes air filter fitted under the nose.

The A27M “Cromwell” Cruiser Tank, named for English Civil War leader – Oliver Cromwell, was the first tank put into service by the British to combine a dual-purpose gun, high speed from the powerful and reliable Meteor engine, and reasonable armor, in a balanced package. The Cromwell first saw action in the Battle of Normandy in June 1944. The tank equipped the armored reconnaissance regiments of the Royal Armored Corps (part of the Royal Tank Regiment), within the 7th, 11th and Guards armored Divisions. While the armored regiments of the latter two divisions were equipped with M4 Shermans, the armored regiments of the 7th Armored Division were equipped with Cromwell tanks. The Cromwell IV was the most numerous variant with over 1,935 units produced. It was not uncommon for this variant to be modified into an observation post. This entailed fitting the tank with 4 portable radios – no. 19 and no. 38. There are currently at least 25 Cromwell IV that exist in the world, many of them in running condition.
