The RSO (Raupenschlepper, Ost – or “caterpiller vehicle east”) was borne out of the need for tracked utility vehicles to keep German troops supplied on the roadless, muddy Russian frontier. Based on a Steyr medium truck chassis, the RSO used a simple “slack track” system that was for more reliable and easy to maintain than the complex interleaved road wheels on most German tracked vehicles. Introduced in 1942 as a supply vehicle, it was quickly adapted for multiple roles due to it’s ease of navigation through the alternating frozen or muddy conditions on the Eastern Front. The RSO was widely produced during the war and was also present on the Western Front in large numbers. Our version mounts the 2cm Flak 38 anti-aircraft cannon, but the gun can be removed to transform this vehicle into a carge carrier.
Due to limited available of certain pieces, this kit will be limited to just 100 copies!
We have been busy assembling the largest army of custom minifigs we’ve ever put together for an event before. The Brickmania booth at Brickfair Virginia will be packed with hundreds of them spanning the entire spectrum of Brickmania’s kit releases and all armed to the teeth with BrickArms.
Brickmania is pleased to announce that we are returning to the Evansville Museum at the end of August for an even bigger display of historic World War II models. Last year we brought our Battle of Peleliu diorama and packed it into the museum’s Transportation Center annex. This year we will be setting up in museums’ much larger “Old Gallery” and will have plenty of room for even more displays. In addition to the Battle of Peleliu diorama, we will also bring the destroyer USS Nicholas and several other World War II displays to be announced. We are tentatively scheduled to be at the Evansville Museum Friday and Saturday August 29 and 30.
The D-Day veteran LST 325 will be setting sail this year on the Tennessee River for a three week cruise with stops in Decatur, AL on September 4-9th and Chattanooga, TN on September 12-17th. Brickmania’s massive Battle of Peleliu display featuring a 10-foot long LEGO replica LST will be on display inside the ship as part of the tour. There will also be exclusive Brickmania kits and minifigs available in the LST 325 gift shop for both stops.

The Ordnance Quick Firing 13 Pounder (weight refers to the weight of the shell) was developed as a light, rapid-firing artillery piece for use by British and Commonwealth cavalry. During World War One, the 13 pounder saw service on all fronts and was widely praised for it’s high mobility and lethal effectiveness. However, once the mobility of open warfare gave way to static trench lines, the QF 13 Pounder would eventually be phased out in favor of the more powerful 18 pounder.
The QF 13 Pounder has the following features:
