Messerschmitt Bf 109 “Kurfürst” Custom LEGO® Building Kit
Brickmania is releasing the Bf 109 “Kurfürst” building kit as the beginning of a whole new series of World War II aircraft. Due to scarcity of some of the pieces used in this kit, production will be much more limited than standard Brickmania kits.
About the Messerschmitt Bf 109
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was the primary single-seat, piston engined fighter plane used by Germany during World War II. Developed in the 1930’s to fulfull the fighter / intercepter role, it incorporated all of the features that would be considered state-of-the art for World War II: an all-metal mono-plane with a fully enclosed canopy. The Bf 109 would see continual upgrades as technology advanced and it’s roles increased on the battlefield and in the skies. The Bf 109 K (“Kurfürst in the German phonetic alphabet of the time) was the final war-time iteration of Willy Messerschmitt’s fighter design and participated heavily in battles such as Operation Bodenplatte (Baseplate) during the Battle of the Bulge. The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was the most produced fighter aircraft design of all time and saw service for two decades after the close of World War II.

Brickmania Education and LEGO® MINDSTORMS® EV3 Boot Camp!
We are putting together an educational program at the Brickmania Toyworks starting summer 2014. Our program will revolve around a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) curriculum assembled and led by teaching professionals with activities using LEGO® educational materials.
LEGO® MINDSTORMS® EV3 Robotics Boot Camp
Our first “Boot Camp” will be a week-long introduction to LEGO Mindstorms® using the latest EV3® programmable robotics system. Students will work individually and as groups to achieve course objectives throughout the week. Classes will held during morning hours for 3 hours each day (9am to noon). T-shirts will be provided for students as part of the team-building programs and will also receive a special gift upon course completion. Students are requested to bring a small snack for themselves each day. Class sizes will range from 10-16 students, for kids entering 6-8th grade in fall. Cost is $200 per student (or $160 if paid by May 31st). Each student must bring a completed release form on the first day of class. All classes take place at Brickmania Toyworks. The following weeks are currently available:

We may open up additional weeks if demand exists.
Students learn basic LEGO® robotics at a previous class run by our staff.

The LVT was a tracked amphibious vehicle crucial to the success of Allied landings in World War II. They were especially valuable in the Pacific campaign due to their ability to drive over dangerous coral reefs that formed natural beach obstacles. The LVT-4 has a ramp at the hull rear, for rapid unloading of men and material (such as a JEEP or howitzer). It also has mounting points for up to four M2HB or M1919 machine guns.
We have just two copies of the Panzer IV Ausf G kits left. The Panzer IV was the work-horse tank of the German armored force for the entirety of World War II. Due to it’s generous proportions and powerful Maybach engine, the Panzer IV was continually upgraded to keep it competitive with Allied armor improvements. The Ausf G model was the first Panzer IV to be factory equipped with the powerful, long-barrel KwK 40 L/43 75mm cannon. It made it’s debut in the waning days of the North Africa campaign and played a major role in Italian campaign and the Kursk offensive in Russia. From February 1943 onwards, all German armor was factory-delivered in the dunkle gelb (tan) color, but we very rarely offer kits in this color due to the extra cost of tan LEGO bricks. Get this rare kit while you can!
The DShK “Dushka” is the Russian equivalent to the American Browning M2 heavy machine gun. We made a limited run of the DShK in it’s convertible WW2 mounting, which can be set up in either an anti-ground or anti-aircraft configuration. This model is not as easy as it looks to put together – are you up to the challenge to save Mother Russia?
Talk about a score – we found one copy left of the M1927 Regimental Gun (Early Version) that was hidden away in the back of one of our display cases! Perfect for any Eastern Front dioramas or for anyone wanting to complete their collection.
Micro Tanks Tournament Announced for World War Brick
There will be a bracket-style tournament of Rumrunner’s Micro Tank Battle game held on Friday of World War Brick 2014. The tournament is open to all Weekened Pass holders and all participants will be eligible to win prizes. There will also be prizes for the tournament grand champion and runners-up will be able to play a free-for-all “King of the Hill” bonus round.
A full list of activities for Weekend Pass holders will be posted this week at WorldWarBrick.com. There are still Weekend Passes available, but they will certainly disappear fast as WWB 2014 approaches. Advanced tickets for the Public Exhibit are also available for the merely curious. Advanced ticket holders will be allowed into WWB 1/2 hour earlier than those paying at the door and will receive a raffle ticket good for a special drawing held at noon that day.
