Allan Cors, the man behind the Americans in Wartime Museum, Awas profiled today in online edition the UK’s Daily Mail . Included among numerous photos of Allan’s armor vehicle collection taken of the recent “Tank Farm” Open house was a shot of Brickmania’s Peleliu Invasion diorama. Check out the whole article HERE.
We scheduled a stop at the Ropkey Armor Museum today during our return trip from Virigina. There we met Museum founder Fred Ropkey and his chief mechanic Skip. Here are a few snapshots of just part of the collection. They were impressed by some of the models we showed them and asked us to leave them a display for the museum. We plan to return to the museum later this month with a nice Brickmania display for their collection.
We had hordes of visitors pass through our displays today. After it was all over, we did another walk around through displays we didn;t see this morning. For ow here are some more static vehicle photos. Jim took a lot of action shots during the live history demonstrations, which I will post on the blog in the near future.
We’re set up at the NMAW “Tank Farm” Open House this weekend. I had a chance to walk around and take pictures of some of the vehicles this morning before the public was allowed in. I’ll add more photos to the gallery as time permits.
Hello Brickmania Track Link supporters,
I would like to reiterate that no backer rewards—including the bonus stretch goal rewards like T-shirts, minifigs, etc.—will be shipped until the actual Brickmania Track Links™ are completed. I based my original July delivery date based on initial estimates from my tool maker. However, the tool makers have since revised the timeframe and are now behind schedule. I appreciate the support everyone has given me on this project and will show it by sending you cool stuff—as soon as the Track Links are ready.
Thanks again for your support and patience.
Dan
The Czech-built LT v 38 was pressed into service by the Wehrmacht after Czechoslovakia was annexed by Germany. After being reclassified as the Panzer 38(t) (The “t” stands for “Tschechisch” meaning Czech in German) they were used extensively by the German armored forces during the invasions of Poland, France and the Soviet Union. While they proved reliable vehicles, their light armor and 37mm main gun would prove them quickly outclassed by more power Soviet tanks. While the Panzer 38(t) was withdrawn from combat by 1942, the tanks’s chassis would continue to be produced as the basis for the Marder III and Hetzer tank destroyers.
To celebrate our first new batch of the Panzer 38(t) for 2013 we’re taking $10 off the MSRP of $135 through the end of August. ORDER HERE
PRESS RELEASE
Brickmania will be visiting Charleston, WV from August 30th to September 3rd to display a Peleliu Invasion diorama, built using over 500,000 LEGO® bricks. The display will be set up in the tank deck of the World War II veteran landing ship LST 325 for the duration of her visit to Charleston.
Brickmania’s display includes a 10-foot-long 1/35th scale LST model, featuring disembarking boats, tanks and Marines for the World War II battle for the South Pacific island of Peleliu. The display measures 5 x 24′ and includes many other iconic military machines that took part in the battle: Sherman tanks, LVT and DUKW amphibious vehicles, Higgins Boats, Corsair fighter planes as well as several hundred custom mini figures depicting US Marines and Imperial Japanese Army troops. The display has traveled to several events across North America where it has attracted a lot of attention at each stop. (Check out coverage at Gizmodo)
The LST 325 took part in several actions during World War II, including the D-Day landing at Normandy, will be in Charleston, WV from August 30 to September 3rd and open for visitors and tours from 9am to 5pm each day. LST 325 will be docked at Haddad Riverfront Park (across from the Ramada Hotel, 600 Kanawha Blvd East, Charleston, WV 25301).

Greetings Brickmania Track Link™ supporters!
A quick update to let you know that the Track Link molds are still in the tooling phase and to request your patience as the project proceeds. The latest word from the mold maker is we are on the home stretch, but are still approximately 4 weeks from the molds being complete. There will inevitably be some tweaking to the molds before final production will commence. Therefore we’re looking at no product being shipped anytime in August and possibly not even in September.
My goal is to release the absolute best product possible and exceed the level of quality you would expect from a Brickmania product. Therefore I will not lean on the mold makers to speed up the process or cut corners for the sake of saving time. Trust me the wait is just as excruciating for me as it is for you. We all just have to be patient and let the manufacturing process run its course.
I am taking steps to make sure that Brickmania is ready to deliver the backer rewards as soon as the tracks are done. We have already invested a great deal of time preparing our reward obligations. The next step will be to finalize all of the remaining Backer-Kit orders, so we can obtain the last of the parts needed for the exclusive kits. I plan to have this finished up over the next day or two. Assembly of the kits will commence immediately and will be ready to drop in the Track Links as soon as they arrive from the injection molders. All rewards will be shipped out at the same time, so that everyone can savor the same moment of triumph together.
Thanks for your continued support and patience!

Brickmania will be setting up a massive display this weekend at the “Tank Farm” in Nokesville, VA. This is part of the annual VMMV / NMAW Open House—a gathering featuring a massive collection of restored historic military vehicles, period reenactors, historic exhibits and more.
We will be set up in this large hanger building where they normally store part of their vintage armor collection, sharing the space with several other historic military displays (not made from LEGO). We plan to bring the 5 x 24′ Peleliu invasion diorama, the Vietnam War diorama, and at least 50 different armored vehicles and aircraft.
The open house takes place at the “Tank Farm” 13906 Aden Road, Nokesville, Virginia 20181 on August 17th and 18th from 10am to 4pm. There will be dozens of military vehicles on display, along with exhibits by living history units, artifact collections and more (click this link for the full event schedule). Admission is a suggested minimum donation of $10 per adult and kids are free. Note: due to permitting restrictions, Brickmania will not have any items for sale at this event. We will have some special web coupons available for those who visit our displays.
