Brickmania will be returning to Brickworld Chicago next summer. The organizers have assured us that they will have ample space for us at their new location. Brickworld Chicago is one of the biggest LEGO fan events in North America and takes place June 12-16th, 2013. If you live close to Indianapolis, IN, we will also be attending the Brickworld Indy exhibition on March 9th & 10th. Brickmania will have vendor booth at both events as well as large displays of historical dioramas and models. More information will be posted as it becomes available. We will soon be posting our 2013 schedule on the EVENTS page.
We’re preparing our next batch of World War II kits, which will be based on the surprise German invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941. Here are the first pictures to be released showing off prototype models for four new German armor models that will be released as part of this new series. From left to right: Panzer IV Ausf F, Panzer III Ausf H, Panzer 38(t), Panzer II Ausf C. More pictures – including new Soviet armor – will be posted soon!
My Landing Ship Tank model was put on display at last weekend’s open house at the Brickmania Toyworks. I snapped a few pictures after the crowds had left to share on the web. The model is not yet 100% finished as I still have more railings to add and other small details. I plan to sue this as a means to display large quantities of vehicles at future events, but for now it is transporting my old LCT model on the deck.
The Landing Ship Tank was devised by the United States and Great Britain as a means to transport larger numbers of tanks and other equipment across oceans and deposit them directly on a hostile shore. My ship is modeled after and LST Type II, of which over 2000 were built during and shortly after World War II. This ship could transport up to 24 Sherman tanks (or larger numbers of small vehicles) plus 15o men across any ocean deposit them on shore through the uniquely designed bow ramp. The LST usually carried between 2 and 6 smaller LVCPs (Landing Craft Vehicle, Personnel) aka “Higgins Boats” to transport troops to the beach. They were also used to ferry other landing across the ocean and many left US ports with a LCT (Landing Craft, Tank) slung to the deck. These would be launched when they neared their final destination by selective flooding of the LST’s ballast tanks and tilting the ship to one side.
We’ve reduced the prices on nine of our World War Two kits that are scheduled for retirement when the current batches are gone. These are all high quality kits, but we’re being forced to discontinue them due to the fact we can not find the parts to keep them in production. All nine of the are marked 15% off the MSRP and there’s no coupon required to get the markdown—this means you can still use the Free Bren Gun coupon offer advertised last week. Remember, these kits are being discontinued, so WHEN THEY’RE GONE THEY’RE ALL GONE!

The first batch of standard edition dark gray M1025 Humvees are now available to order. This is a slightly improved version of Brickmania’s original tan Durabuilder Humvee – not only with improved parts selection, but also a lower price! We also now have special Modern Combat Trooper minifigs available to order separately HERE. This is the third kit in a new series of modern-era military vehicle kits on deck for release in 2012.
We had some of the awesome BrickArms helmets made even better with custom pad-printed details. All are available for a limited time from the Brickmania web store.
Once again my Vietnam War Diorama has been recognized by my peers with an award at last weekend’s BrickFair fan convention in Chantilly, VA. This is the fourth trophy for this MOC which has now travelled around the entire country!
Also on public display for the first time at BrickFair was my 9 1/2 feet long Landing Ship Tank. That model will also be on display this weekend at the Brickmania Open House. I plan to post a complete gallery of photos for that model within the next week.
One of our most popular Vietnam War series kits is now available again after several months on the “out of stock” list. Includes one minifig as shown on the box cover. Click image for more information.
People have been asking if we’ll sell our modern combat soldiers individually and we managed to put together a few extras. These gray troopers are equipped with LEGO body armor and Modern Combat Helmets from BrickArms. We have not included weapons in order to leave the armaments decision to their new commanders.
Order HERE while they last!
BrickArms has made a small run of their newest brown weapon sprue in black ABS for Brickfair. We brought the leftovers home and now have them available for a limited time.
