The SdKfz 250 was a light armored troop-carrying halftrack used by Germany during World War II. Its angular shape was similar in appearance to the larger SdKfz 251 “Hanomag” halftrack. This smaller vehicle used in roles where there was no need for larger halftrack, such as scouting, forward artillery observers, headquarters, communications, etc. The original Ausf A version featured a complex angled hull, open top crew compartment, a single entry door at the rear of the vehicle, and was armed with a single MG34 machine gun. The SdKfz 250 was just beginning to reach frontline units as the invasion of the Soviet Union began. Production of the SdKfz 250 would continue throughout the remainder of the war and later versions would have a simplified hull shape as well as numerous variations of weapons systems, communications gear, etc. Over 6500 of the SdKfz 250 would be built before the end of the war.

About the A7V
The A7V was a heavy tank initially introduced by Germany in 1918 during World War I. They were used in action from March to October 1918, and were the only tanks produced by Germany in World War I to be used in combat. Project plans for creating this early tank were bold – a mass of around 30 tons, and capabilities of crossing ditches up to 1.5 meters wide, and having an armament including cannon at the front, as well as 6 machine guns, two per side and two on the rear.
Top speeds of the A7V were capped at 12km/h, and the running gear was based on the Holt tractor. The first prototype was completed and tested on April 30th, 1917. A wooden mockup of a final version was completed and demonstrated in May 1917. The most common machine guns used in this tank were the MG08. Two people were assigned to the tank – the commander and driver. The remaining crew were pulled from numerous other units, often based on machine-gun operation skills.

The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was the primary single-seat, piston engined fighter plane used by Germany during World War II. Developed in the 1930’s to fulfill the fighter / interceptor role, it incorporated all of the features that would be considered state-of-the art for World War II. An all-metal mono-plane with a fully enclosed canopy, the Bf 109 would see continual upgrades as technology advanced and it’s roles increased on the battlefield and in the skies. The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was the most produced fighter aircraft design of all time and saw service for two decades after the close of World War II.

The Kübelwagen was a light utility car used by the German armed forces during World War II. Designed by Ferdinand Porsche, it shared many chassis components with the Volkswagen Beetle. The Kübelwagen could carry four fully equipped soldiers on roads and overland thanks to it’s light weight body, reinforced suspension and a self-locking differential. Its air cooled engine was reliable and easier to maintain in the field verses their more complex allied equivalents. More than 50,000 were manufactured during the war for the German armed forces.
The Kübelwagen kit was originally released in 2010 and was the first Brickmania kit to sell more than 1000 copies. For a limited time we’re bringing back this classic kit in dark gray with the addition of a custom printed minifigure.
