SdKfz 10

SdKfz 10 Utility Halftrack

The Sd.Kfz (Sonderkraftfahrzeug) 10 was a German utility halftrack that saw widespread use throughout World War II. It’s main role was to serve as a prime mover for light to medium towed weapons and their crew. Numerous specialized variants were produced and its chassis was also adapted to become the SdKfz 250 light armored halftrack.

  • Fully articulated tracks
  • Collapsable windscreen
  • Space for up to 6 minifugure
  • Storage bin, weapon rack and realistic tool stowage

Pak 40

Pak 40 7.5 cm Anti-Tank Gun

Designed shortly before the outbreak of World War II, the Pak 40 project 7.5 cm anti-tank project was shelved due to the lighting fast successes by the German army in the early stages of the war. When more heavily armored tanks were encountered in Russia, Pak 40 production was immediately ordered. The Pak 40 made its battlefield debut during the battle for Kharkov in May 1942. the PaK 40 was bigger and more powerful than its predesessors in every aspect, although it still had a remarkably low silhoutte, making it easy to conceal in spite of its increased size. The Pak 40 could defeat the armor of all but the heaviest Allied tanks up until the end of the war.

Features:

  • Gun is poseable with a limited degree of elevation
  • Lower gun shield folds up and tails fold in for transportation
  • Can be towed behind any vehicle with a hook type hitch
  • 1/35 scale matches other Brickmania models
  • The over-all color scheme of this model is light gray
  • Includes 70 LEGO elements.

Pak 43

Pak 43 / L71 8.8cm Anti-Tank Gun

The Pak 43/L71 was an adaptation of the Flak “88” anti-aircraft gun turned anti-tank gun. The Pak43 had an barrel length of 21 feet, giving it the incredible ability to penetrate 19 centimeters of armor at a reange of 1000 meters. The Pak43/L71 was produced in both the cruciform anti-aircraft mount and split tail mount typifying the dedicated anti-tank variation (designated Pak 43/41 L71). While the “88” was very effective against Allied armor, its large size made it less mobile and harder to hide than smaller Pak weapons.

Features:

  • Gun is poseable with a limited degree of elevation
  • Lower gun shield folds up and tails fold up and in for transportation
  • Can be towed behind any vehicle with a hook type hitch
  • 1/35 scale matches other Brickmania models
  • The over-all color scheme of this model is dark gray
  • Includes 93 LEGO elements.

This Brickmania model kit is made from genuine unused LEGO bricks and is shipped disassembled. Also included are full-color printed building instructions and is packaged in a sealed polybag. All Brickmania building kits are limited production and may be discontinued at any time.

GALLERY: Brickmania at the Minneapolis Boat Show

Brickmania Booth

Brickmania was an invited guest at the Minneapolis Boat Show last weekend, where we set up a large display, play area with bins of LEGO bricks, and small retail store. Thousands of people viewed our displays, entered our drawing, and stayed to play for a while. We usually display at events already themed around LEGO building, but this was one where we definitely had a chance to expose an entirely uninitiated crowd to custom LEGO building as a serious hobby. All in all it was a lot of fun, and probably something we’ll be doing once or twice a year from now on.

We do have some leftover kits we made up for the event. They are extremely limited edition and are available HERE while they last.

RESTOCK: UH-60 Blackhawk Utility Helicopter

UH-60 Black Hawk

When we put together our first batch of these massive Blackhawk kits, it was inconceivable that they would sell out in less than two months.  Fortunately we were able to scour our sources to obtain enough parts for a second limited run.

The Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter was introduced in 1979 as the replacement for Bell UH-1 Iroquois, the previous utility helicopter of the US Army. With large shoes to fill, the Black Hawk was able to far exceed all of the capabilities of its predecessor with far greater speed, range, capacity and survivability. The UH-60 has been configured to serve a number of different roles, but the most significant numbers produced being the UH-60A (with updates now called UH-60M) utility configuration. This version of the Black Hawk has a four man crew and can carry up to 11 combat-ready soldiers, 2600 pounds of cargo, or a complete 105mm howitzer battery including its four-man crew. Black Hawks have participated in almost every American military operation since the 1980’s, up to and including the raid against Osama Bin Laden.

NEW RELEASE: ZiS-3 Field Gun (M1942 Divisional Gun)

ZiS-3

The ZiS-3 76mm Field Gun (Officially designated M1942 Divisional Gun) was the most common medium artillery piece used by the Soviet Union during the Great Patriotic War. Due to the innovated addition of the massive muzzle brake, per-war 76mm gun barrels could be mated to the light weight ZiS-2 anti-tank gun carriage. This created a compact, mobile, inexpensive, versatile and easy to produce artillery piece that was called, “A masterpiece of artillery systems design.” by Joseph Stalin. The ZiS-3 gun was the main armament used for the Su-76 self-propelled gun. Most ZiS-3 guns were withdrawn from the Red Army after World War II and were later supplied to satellite states. The ZiS-3 was used by communist forces in both the Korean and Vietnam wars.
