EVENT: Brickmania to Display at the Minneapolis Boat Show
One of three custom Wakeboard Boats kits for this year’s show.
We’ll be at the Minneapolis Boat Show this weekend (January 31-February 3) with a display of naval ships, watercraft and creatures from Bikini Bottom all built of LEGO bricks. We will also bring some loose bricks and have some tables set up to help provide a play break for the kids and families. The organizers have requested a special Wakeboard Boat kit, exclusive to the event, plus we will have a small selection of Brickmania and LEGO products from our store. If you’re planning a trip to the Boat Show, be sure to see us in Lobby E of the Minneapolis Convention Center.

NEW RELEASE: M1 37mm Anti-Tank Gun Minikit
Designed in the 1930’s as the standard anti-tank gun for use by the US Army and Marine Corps during the build-up to World War II. It was quickly proven ineffective against heavier-than-anticipated armor on German and Italian tanks. and was soon replaced by heavier 57mm, 3 inch and 90mm in the European Theater of Operation. The 37mm gun did continue to be used in the Pacific campaigns throught the war, being effective against the less sophisticated Japanese armor and light fortifications. The gun would be continually improved throughout the war and was particularly useful because it could be manouvered by a squad of men or towed behind a quarter-ton 4×4 (aka JEEP). The 37mm could fire an “beehive” anti-personnel round in addition to the standard armor piercing ammunition.
Brickmania has previously released the 37mm gun as part of a larger Battle Pack, but this is the first time it is being sold as a stand-along mini kit.

NEW RELEASE: Brick Journal #22 In Stock Now
BrickJournal #22 (84 full-color pages, $8.95), the magazine for LEGO enthusiasts, takes to the skies with aviation building! COMING SOON: Brickmania to Begin Selling Roaglaan’s Custom Decals
Roaglaan has been designing and selling high-quality custom water-slide decals for LEGO minifigs for a few years. When he announced he was going to stop production this January, a major loss was felt throughout the minifig customizer community. Those particularly impacted by the announcement were those who relied on Roaglaan’s Customs for a low priced means for creating large scale minifig armies.
Brickmania is please to announce that we have reached an agreement with Roaglaan to keep his designs available to the public. Starting in February 2013, Brickmania will begin releasing “squad packs” of five complete decal sets, plus a limited number of decal sets for individual figures. We are currently working out the details of packaging and production, with the planned release for the first decal sets slated for the first week of February. Stay tuned for more details!
Brickmania Toyworks Prominently Featured in Pioneer Press
The Brickmania Toyworks (our warehouse gallery space) is prominently featured in today’s St Paul Pioneer Press newspaper. If you don’t have access to a physical copy, you can still read the entire article online HERE.
If you are planning to come to the next open house at Brickmania, keep in mind we are current only open to the public on the 2nd Saturday of each month (February 9th, March 9th, etc.) and our hours are 10am to 4pm. We also have our own outside entrance on 18th Ave NE (do not try to enter the main building entrance on Central, it is usually locked on Saturdays). Admission is free. RESTOCK Tan M1025 HMMWV “Durabuilder Humvee”
We have another batch of 50 tan Durabuilder Humvees rolling down the assembly line today. Due to difficulties obtaining parts, batches of this model in tan have become increasingly difficult to complete. We’ll keep making them as we can, but it could be six months before the next batch is ready. In other words, get one now, or be prepared to wait for the next batch! Click image to order.
If you are looking for minifies to man your Humvees, we have a good amount of Modern Combat Soldiers in tan and dark gray. And don’t forget your BrickArms!
On a related note, we are currently working on additional Humvees in dark gray and they should be available for sale within the next two weeks. We are also planning to respond to requests for humvees in NATO forest camouflage. Watch future updates for restock and release information.

NEW RELEASE: M102 105mm Light Field Howitzer
The M102 105mm howitzer was developed as a repalcement for the World War II vintage M101 as the US Army’s main fire support artillery piece. The M102 was first used by combat troops during the Vietnam War, where it’s lightweight aluminum chassis and its rapid rotation swivel base proved it a worthy upgrade to its venerable forebearer. The lightweight of the new weapon meant it could be more easily handled by troops, but more importnaly it could be airlifted to remote fire support bases by helicopter or parachute dropped with airborne units. During the Veitnam War, the M102 was commonly transported by a CH-47 Chinook helicopter or towed behind a M35 6×6 Truck and in more recent times by the UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter and HMMWV (“Humvee”) utility vehicle.
